
Eighteen new members were inducted into The Altamont School’s chapter of Mu Alpha Theta on Sept. 17.
Mu Alpha Theta is the national high school and two-year college mathematics honor society, with 108,000 student members in more than 2,200 schools around the country.
The society is dedicated to inspiring keen interest in mathematics, developing strong scholarship in the subject and promoting the enjoyment of mathematics in students.
To qualify for induction, candidates must have a high honors grade in two consecutive or concurrent courses of high school mathematics and must have successfully completed Algebra I and Geometry.
2015 Mu Alpha Theta inductees are: Matan Abrams, sophomore; Afra Ashraf, junior; Fion Chang, sophomore; Carolyn Cleary, junior; Marinna Dorolek, sophomore; Schuler Goepfert, junior; Matthew Hamrick, sophomore; Cade Hornak, senior; Amrita Lakhanpal, freshman; Sydney McKee, junior; James Patterson, junior; Lucy Pless, junior; Imani Richardson, junior; Amanda Roussel, junior; Spencer Skidmore, freshman; Jordan Torch, junior; Nicole Vaughan, senior; and Archana Yarlagadda, sophomore.
