As a person who thinks myself to be a reasonably good writer and having done some of that work with folks at the UAB School of Medicine, I am ALWAYS impressed with your writing and your thought process. I think you should collect your column and put them in a book. I will surely purchase a few copies.

We have them here at our office at 2016 Columbiana Road in Vestavia Hills. We’re right across the street from Shades Mountain Baptist Church. The first issue is free, and then after that it’s $1 each.

Coach Higg is an amazing coach. He built great relationships with not just his players but with all the students. I shared many pickup basketball games with him and was on the recieving end of many of his perfectly placed elbows. In fact, I remember him telling me how football would make me a better basketball player. And that if I ruled it out completely I would regret it someday. Now that I’m a high school principal and deal with football a great deal I wish that I’d listened. Congrats on a great career coach and thank you for touching so many lives.

Man I love Coach Higg! He also had a great staff with him. Because Coach King and Coach Butts was like no other. Thanks for the memories Shades Valley and helping me get a full scholarship to Southern Miss and play one season with the great Brett Favre.
