Impact Family Counseling is recruiting 30 local couples for a six-week Relationship Evaluation Project, in conjunction with the Alabama Healthy Marriage and Relationship Education Initiative and Auburn University. Eligibility is open to couples of any age, socio-economic background and marital status.
The process will include five surveys and varying course work. Participating couples will be broken into three groups at random by Auburn University to participate in either community counseling and mediation, an Elevate course and or no course. Couples will receive $50 each for baseline, post program, six month and one year surveys and $100 for a two year follow-up.
Course groups will meet either the Vestavia Hills or Southside location on Sept. 21, Sept. 28, Oct. 5, Oct. 12, Oct. 19 and Oct. 26 from 5:30-8 p.m. with childcare provided.
