The COVID-19 outbreak has caused a number of products to disappear from the shelves of local stores.
In response, Dread River Distilling Co. has been using some of its distilling equipment to create a 70% alcohol hand sanitizer.
In a Facebook post on March 19, the distillery announced that the first batches of hand sanitizer will be distributed to local healthcare facilities, first responders and other businesses in urgent need – such as nursing homes and hospices.
“We are working hard to keep producing and distributing sanitizer for our community,” the post read. “We will continue to give our sanitizer away for free as long as our resources and supplies last.”
