The Greater Birmingham Humane Society Young Professionals’ Board, in partnership with Hendrick Subaru Hoover and Abbey Residential, announced on Oct. 21 their Subaru #MakeADogsDay Campaign to raise money for and increase awareness of overlooked shelter animals.
The GBHS YPs are selling raffle tickets for the chance to win a 2-year lease for a brand new 2021 Subaru Outback Premium (MSRP starting at $29,045).
Raffle tickets can be purchased now through Nov. 2 at noon at gbhs.org/subaru. and range from $10.00 for one ticket to $100 for 100 tickets. The winner will be announced via the GBHS Facebook page on Nov. 2 after the raffle closes at noon. All ticket proceeds will go directly back to GBHS allowing them to continue their lifesaving work serving thousands of homeless, abused, and neglected pets.
“This is the 2nd year that Subaru has partnered with us to help raise the visibility of animals that have been in the shelter for a long time, “said Ivana Sullivan, chief program officer for GBHS.
In addition to the #MakeADogsDay raffle, Hendrick Subaru Hoover and Abbey Residential are also sponsoring adoptions for the dogs and cats at GBHS. Selected pets will have waived adoption fees and can be found at gbhs.org or on GBHS social media platforms.
“Seniors, black cats and dogs and animals with medical issues are often overlooked even though we provide their care and they make wonderful pets,” Sullivan added.
Hendrick Subaru Hoover will host a special event to celebrate #MakeADogsDay on Oct. 22 at their dealership, complete with a costume contest, treats, and GBHS #underdogs. The event starts at 5 p.m.
