It was recently announced that the Homewood Theatre will have a permanent location at Brookwood Village.
Previously occupying temporary space at The Dance Foundation, the theatre will be moving in at Brookwood Village and opening its doors later this summer for its 2019 – 2020 production season.
Founded in 2016, Homewood Theatre’s mission is to provide a first-class theatre experience for Central Alabama and foster theatre arts opportunities for local actors.
“Relocating to Brookwood Village will enable us to continue providing unique, quality theatre experiences for the Homewood and surrounding communities,” said Kyle Bass, executive director of Homewood Theatre. “With its convenient location and access to parking, food and entertainment, our guests will be able to enjoy a fun-filled night out in Brookwood Village when they attend performances in our new location.”
Homewood Theatre’s move is also part of Brookwood Village’s long-term strategy to evolve into a mixed-use destination.
“Brookwood Village has served the Homewood, Mountain Brook and Vestavia neighborhoods since 1973 and remains invested in these local communities who have celebrated traditions with us for more than four decades,” said Anne Stephens, specialty leasing and marketing director for Brookwood Village. “We’re looking forward to the energy Homewood Theatre will bring as we strive to create a more dynamic and interactive experience for our visitors.”
With six shows scheduled for the 2019-2020 season, Homewood Theatre’s debut performance at Brookwood Village will take place on August 22 with the showing of “Bill Bugg and Friends Part 2,” featuring popular show tunes in a piano-bar style setting.
Tickets prices are $20. Group packages and season tickets are also available.
