The Megan Montgomery Foundation’s 4th Annual Gingerbread “Jam” Housebuilding raised $50,188 to help provide grants to high schools, colleges and nonprofits for education on healthy relationships and stop relationship violence BEFORE it starts.
Building gingerbread houses was a special family tradition for Susann Montgomery-Clark, her daughters Meredith and Megan Montgomery and the many friends and family members who enjoyed their gingerbread parties in their home over many years. “This is a great family friendly holiday event” says Meredith Montgomery-Price, Megan’s sister and Executive Director of the Megan Montgomery Foundation. “It’s a way to have fun and make a difference at the same time; and carry on the tradition that our family and friends loved growing up”.
In its first 3 years The Megan Montgomery Foundation has partnered with and distributed more than $363,000 in grants to high schools, colleges and non-profits across Alabama.
Megan Montgomery was a beloved daughter, sister and aunt who earned her Master’s Degree from UAB and was employed as a writer for UAB’s school of nursing. Megan was murdered in 2019 by her estranged husband. Megan’s mother, stepdad and sister created the Megan Montgomery Foundation to prevent domestic violence. megansfoundation.org
