Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School (OLS School) marked the Advent season with its annual Live Nativity and Living Advent Wreath. Family members and friends attended this prayerful celebration of the anticipation and joy of Christ’s birth.
The program opened with a Living Advent Wreath, as students symbolically “lit” the candles representing hope, peace, joy, and love in preparation for Christmas. The presentation continued with a Live Nativity, emphasizing the central role of the Holy Family and the heavenly messengers who announced Jesus’ coming.
Students from across grade levels participated, portraying Mary and St. Joseph, St. Elizabeth, the Angel Gabriel, shepherds, Wise Men, angels, and animals from the Nativity story. Each class was dressed as biblical figures and performed traditional Christmas songs, creating a reverent and joyful atmosphere.
This cherished school tradition provided a meaningful way for students and staff to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas before departing for the holiday break.
