The Birmingham Museum of Art (BMA) announces the reopening of its museum café with a new name and culinary direction. Café BMA, now under the management of celebrated Birmingham caterer and restaurateur Kathy G & Company, officially opened to the public on February 11.
Café BMA offers lunch service Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 11am to 2pm, providing a refreshed dining experience for museum visitors and the surrounding community. Located within the Birmingham Museum of Art, Café BMA provides a convenient lunch destination for guests attending programs, enjoying the museum’s galleries, or simply meeting for lunch downtown.
“Café BMA is about creating food that feels thoughtful, welcoming, and connected to the experience of being in the museum,” says Kathy G & Company executive chef Jason Mezrano. “It’s an honor to be part of the BMA and to contribute to how visitors gather and enjoy their time here.”
The reopening marks an important enhancement to the museum’s visitor amenities and reflects the BMA’s ongoing commitment to offering engaging, high-quality experiences beyond the galleries.
“Café BMA extends the museum’s role as a cultural gathering place,” said Graham C. Boettcher, PhD, R. Hugh Daniel Director of the Birmingham Museum of Art. “Kathy G’s leadership brings a level of creativity and care that aligns beautifully with the museum’s mission and our commitment to serving the community.”
