The Vestavia Hills Beautification Board recently hosted the 47th annual Vestavia Belles Presentation at the Vestavia Civic Center, celebrating a new class of young women dedicated to community service.
The Vestavia Belles, a community service organization comprised of high school-aged young women who serve as junior hostesses for the City of Vestavia Hills, introduced 37 members of the Class of 2026. The event marked the beginning of their term of service and was attended by family and friends. Junior and senior Belles were also recognized during the ceremony.
Guests were welcomed by Mayor Ashley Curry, Mistress of Ceremony Clare Huddleston, Acting Beautification Board Chairman Mary Berryman and Vestavia Belle Chairman Rita Greene. Senior Belles received special recognition, including Certificates of Service presented by Mayor Curry, along with gifts of appreciation from Greene.
Several senior Belles were honored with awards recognizing service, leadership and commitment to excellence:

• Campbell Johnston Grit and Grace Award—Hannah White
• Academic Award—Vivian Shi
• Vestavia Hills Beautification Spirit Award—Sadie Chavers and Lainey Ann Ramey
• Extra Mile Award—Maria Alfano, Ella Guest and Collins Tyus
• Vestavia Belle Steadfast Award—Anvitha Yarparla

Each year, Vestavia Belles contribute volunteer hours to the Library in the Forest’s Summer Reading Program and assist with a variety of civic events throughout the community. In the past year alone, the organization contributed more than 1,800 hours of community service.
