Book collectors, history enthusiasts, and lovers of unique finds won’t want to miss Refined Reads, a special one-day sale hosted by the Friends of the Homewood Public Library on Tuesday, August 11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Room 116 at the Homewood Public Library.
Refined Reads features a carefully curated selection of individually priced books chosen for their quality, rarity, and subject matter. Shoppers will have the opportunity to browse an impressive collection that appeals to collectors and casual readers alike.
The sale will feature an assortment of books on Alabama and Birmingham history, art, architecture, classical literature, decorating and style, cookbooks, and many other fascinating subjects. Visitors will also discover vintage and antique books, complete collections, individual volumes, and a variety of special treasures available only during this exclusive event.
Proceeds from the sale benefit the Homewood Public Library through the work of the Friends of the Homewood Public Library, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting library programs, collections, and services. Through bookstore sales, special events, and volunteer efforts, the Friends provide more than $50,000 annually in grants that enhance the library’s offerings for the community.
“This sale showcases some of the finest donations the Friends have received throughout the year,” said Laura Tucker, Administration Librarian at Homewood Public Library. “It’s a wonderful opportunity to discover exceptional books while supporting the Homewood Public Library and the programs that make it such a valuable community resource.
