In celebration of its 30th anniversary, the Firehouse Shelter will host its sixth annual Five Alarm Gala on Nov. 7 from 6:30-9 p.m. at B&A Warehouse. Tickets are $50. Jeh Jeh Pruitt of Fox 6 will emcee the event, which also will include music by Les Moore and the In-Betweens, a live auction featuring auctioneer Bob Straka, a raffle of more than 50 holiday gift baskets and B&A’s gourmet hors d’oeuvres, buffet and drinks. The Firehouse Shelter has provided homeless men in the Birmingham area with a nurturing and caring environment while empowering each individual to reach his full potential since it first opened its doors on Dec. 23, 1983.
