Looks like Hoover City Schools students will get one more hour of winter break.
The school system announced Jan. 3 that the start of school on Monday, Jan. 6 will be delayed by one hour due to the cold weather expected Sunday night.
A school spokesman says the extra time is needed Monday morning to get the school buses ready.
The school’s website says “the extreme cold weather has impacted our bus fleet, which sat unused over the (winter) break. Technicians advise us warmer temps will be needed to start the buses, which will run their regular routes one hour later on Monday as temperatures rise.”
