Over the Mountain students will get to sleep in a little later on Jan. 7.
Both Hoover City Schools and Homewood City Schools on Jan. 6 announced delayed start times for classes on Jan. 7.
Hoover City Schools will open one hour later on Jan. 7. Buses will run their regular routes one hour later than usual.
Homewood City Schools will open at 10 a.m for students on Jan. 7. Twelve-month employees, Child Nutrition Program workers and custodians must report to their schools by 8 a.m. and all other faculty and staff must report to their schools at 9:30 a.m.
Shelby County Schools will the delay the start of classes by two hours on Tuesday. The schools will not serve breakfast Jan. 7. Faculty and maintenance staff at the Shelby County Schools district location should report to work at their normal time. School custodians and maintenance techs will start two hours later than usual.
Vestavia City Schools will be on a two-hour delay on Jan. 7. Faculty and staff should report to their schools by 9 a.m.
