Mrs. Mary Esther Mathis of Vestavia Hills and Mr. William Leslie Mathis, Jr. of Birmingham are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Frances Leslie, to Jay Patrick Cowart, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Patrick Cowart of Vestavia Hills.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Frank Vincent Brocato, Jr. and the late Mr. Brocato of Homewood and Mr. and Mrs. William Leslie Mathis of Vestavia Hills. She is a graduate of Furman University and was president of Delta Delta Delta sorority. She is currently employed at the Southern Regional Education Board in Atlanta.
The prospective groom is the grandson of the late Mrs. Margaret Major Murphree of Birmingham and the late Mr. Rodger Harris Murphree of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. and Mrs. Rachel Aelise Cowart of Huntsville and the late Mr. Orville Cowart of Huntsville. He is a graduate of Auburn University’s College of Business and currently employed at TriMont Real Estate Advisors in Atlanta.
The wedding will take place on Aug. 21, 2010 at Trinity United Methodist Church.
