The Cathedral Church of the Advent in Birmingham will host a free organ recital at 3 p.m. Sept. 14. Faythe Freese, professor of organ at the University of Alabama, will perform on the 100-rank Grieb-Williams organ. The church is at 2017 Sixth Ave. N.
