Culinary Event Benefits March of Dimes

Top chefs showcased their culinary masterpieces at the Signature Chefs Auction fundraiser Sept. 11 at Iron City Birmingham.
The event to benefit the March of Dimes featured 17 chefs and raised $137,000, organizers said.
Chefs participating in the event included Phichaya Arimahong, Asian Rim Sushi Co.; Ashley McMakin, Ashley Mac’s; Matthew Lagace, Bellinis Ristorante and Bar; Benard Tamburello, Bernie’s on Main and Vecchia Birmingham; James Lewis, Bettola and Vittoria; Alex Castro, Cantina!, Oliver Robinson, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar; Giani Respinto, GianMarco’s; William Rodgers, Iron City Birmingham; George Reis, Ocean and 26; Patrick Horn, Satterfield’s; Monty Todd, Spoon & Ladle Soup Co.; and Jamie Pruitt, Todd English P.U.B.
The event included wine sampling, entertainment and one-of-a-kind packages, organizers said, including fine dining opportunities, hotel and resort stays, weekend getaways, jewelry and more.
Rick Journey was the emcee for the event.

Liz Pharo was the chairman of the 2014 event, and Tricia Wallworkwas co-chairman.
