The squad won the Leadership Award, junior high and junior varsity division, voted on by the other squads at camp. They also won second place in the cheer and extreme routine competitions.
The group brought home the Top Banana award, given by the UCA cheerleading staff to the squad that exhibits the most spirit all week. They were selected by the staff as an “Outstanding Squad” and invited to perform at a New Year’s Day Bowl.
Along with the team awards, several cheerleaders received individual honors. Selected as All Star Cheerleaders were Madelyn Beatty, Everette Dawkins, Elizabeth Hymer, Virginia Jordan, Katie Seeger and Virginia Wilson.
