2nd Annual Hero for Sight Luncheon

Sight Savers America is holding its 2^nd Annual Hero For Sight luncheon presented by Vulcan Value Partners at B&A Warehouse. The 2^nd Annual “Hall W. Thompson Hero For Sight Award” will be presented at the luncheon.  This award is in honor of Hall Thompson who was a business leader in our state and who served on the board of Sight Savers America.  He had a profound impact on the organization and on children’s vision issues in Alabama.  The recipient of this year’s award is Birmingham business leader Hartwell Davis, Jr.  Hartwell is Chairman of the Board of Metalplate Galvanizing, Inc.  He is past president of the Rotary Club of Birmingham, past president of the Crippled Children’s Foundation, former Captain of the Monday Morning Quarterback Club, and past chairman of the EyeSight Foundation of Alabama.  Hartwell has been an advocate for children’s eye care and the work of Sight Savers America for many years.
