This tournament, which takes place at Greystone Golf and Country Club’s Legacy Course, features some of the best high school talent in Alabama. It is played in memory of Bradley Johnson who was tragically killed in an automobile accident March 2006. The Bradley Johnson Memorial Foundation was formed to assist young golfers by providing scholarships toward college expenses and also to help with the cost of playing junior and amateur tournaments.
Play on Wednesday, April 8 will begin with a noon shotgun at the Legacy course. The second round will conclude on Thursday, April 9 with a 9:30 a.m. shotgun. Spectators are welcomed to attend at no charge.
Teams participating are Spain Park (host), Hoover, Briarwood, Mountain Brook, Homewood, Athens, Auburn, St. Luke’s, St. James, Northridge, Guntersville, Fairhope, Bayside, Spanish Fort, Providence Christian (Dothan).
Scott Barnes and Hank Johnson will be speaking at the dinner on Wednesday. Guests are welcome to attend and tickets are $25 per person. Hank is a renowned instructor who coaches both LPGA and PGA tour players. He enjoyed a close relationship with Bradley as coach and friend. Scott Barnes serves as Sr. High Youth Minister at Riverchase United Methodist Church. Scott played golf with Bradley and is close friends with the Johnson family.
Several 2015 collegiate signees will be playing. Spain Park – Patrick Martin (Vanderbilt) and Sam Prater (Troy) along with Fairhope’s Alex Green (University of Alabama) , Northridge- Jackson Seawell (Samford) and William Walker (UAB), St. James- Wells Hooper (UAB).
