QuiltFest 2015 is a biennial quilt show hosted by the Birmingham Quilters Guild with over 300 member quilts displayed. There will be a silent auction of about 50 small wall quilts made by guild members. All silent auction proceeds will be donated to the Lakeshore Foundation Lima Foxtrot project that provides programs for injured military personnel. Admission is $7 for entry to both Friday and Saturday. Children 5 and under are admitted at no charge. There will be a special display of over 15 quilts from Hitachi, Japan, Birmingham’s sister city.
QuiltFest 2015 will have a vendor mall and there will be door prizes, raffles for beautiful quilting gift baskets, and an Opportunity Boutique with items donated or made by guild members. Free demonstrations of tools and tips and quilting projects will be scheduled throughout both days. Scissor sharpening will also be available. You will have a chance to take home a fabulous Donation Quilt entitled “Starburst” that will be given away at the end of the show.
QuiltFest 2015 is held at Oak Mountain Middle School located at 5650 Cahaba Valley Road (Hwy. 119 between Hwy. 280 & I65) in Birmingham, Alabama.
