Elizabeth Grier Darnall and William Hall Stokes were married June 6 at Saint Luke’s Episcopal Church in Mountain Brook. The Rev. Richmond Webster officiated the 6 p.m. ceremony. A reception followed at the Country Club of Birmingham.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Hughes Bundy and Mr. and Mrs. John Palmer Darnall IV of Birmingham. She is the granddaughter of Mr. Rex Lysinger and the late Mrs. Jodene Lysinger of Destin, Florida, and Mr. and Mrs. John Palmer Darnall III of Birmingham.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Whittemore Stokes III of Memphis, Tennessee. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. John Whittemore Stokes Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Adolphus Montague Jr., both of Memphis.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless lace couture gown by Anna Maier with a cathedral-length veil trimmed in matching lace.
The bride was attended by Elizabeth Page Fix and Catherine Brandon O’Brien as maids of honor. Bridesmaids were Caroline Sheffield Brady, Margaret Ellen Gaby, Ann Marie Gieger, Madaline Harris Hargrove, Cameron Stokes Knight, Madeline Francis Morgan, Lucy Owen Newton, Linley Prosterman Stokes and Mary Kathleen Zeigler.
The groom’s father served as best man. Groomsmen were Graham Michael Ballbach, Cabell Winchester Stokes Brown, John Palmer Darnall V, Lowell Graham Hays IV, Trevor Morgan Knight, Wade Alexander Longmire, Robert Milton Montague, Conrad Paul Michael Quiros and John Whittemore Stokes IV.
Scriptures were read by Adeline Latimer Stokes Brown. Program attendants were Thomas Steele Darnall III and Mary Jackson Darnall.
After a wedding trip to Greece, the couple live in New York City.
