This event benefits ACA services, including respite care, scholarships for patients to attend adult day care centers or for continence supplies. These services will impact many of the over 93,000 Alzheimer’s patients in Alabama. ACA also partners with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office to provide Care Trak bracelets that help locate patients who have wandered from home. ACA offers education to families affected by this disease through support groups and telephone counseling.
