EGIONS MASTERWORKS Lynn Harrell, one of the world’s most celebrated cellists, returns to Birmingham. He’ll be joined by his wife Helen Nightengale for Brahms’s dramatic final work for orchestra, the Double Concerto, which was written as a musical gesture of reconciliation to his estranged friend, the great violinist Joseph Joachim. We continue our celebration of the 200th anniversary of the birth of the great Robert Schumann with his Fourth Symphony, a work that captures the essence of romantic musical expression.
