Mr. and Mrs. Roger Bergh and Mr. and Mrs. Mark Raines of Ohio announce the engagement of their daughter, Melinda Marie Bergh, to Thomas Gurak Wald, son of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Wald III of Vestavia Hills.
Miss Bergh is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Larry May, Mrs. Jane Bergh, Mr. Marvin Raines and the late Mrs. June Raines and Mr. and Mrs. John Bird, all of Ohio.
She is a graduate of Kent State University and is employed with the Birmingham Zoo as special events coordinator.
Mr. Wald is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Gurak of Vestavia Hills and the late Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Wald Jr.
He is a graduate of the University of Alabama and is a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. He is employed as an account executive with the Over the Mountain Journal.
The wedding is planned for Oct 26, 2010, in Maui, Hawaii.
