Better Basics and the Junior League of Birmingham will present Birmingham Reads & Brookwood Celebrates from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. April 19 at Colonial Brookwood Village. The event will be a celebration of reading with music, characters and more on the mall’s main street. There will be a collection of new and gently used children’s books that will be donated to children in Birmingham City Schools. Participants are encouraged to bring or buy a book for the book drive.
