It may be the final weekend of Christopher Architecture and Interiors’ first Showhouse at 3620 Ridgeview Lane in Mountain Brook, but the team isn’t slowing down.
The home will be open Jan. 28 and 29 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and Jan. 30 and 31 from 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
Due to lack of onsite parking, a shuttle service has been organized to pick-up and drop-off guests at two locations: Calton Hill, 3918 Montclair Road in Mountain Brook; and Erskine Ramsay Park, 3600 Montclair Road in Birmingham. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door for $25.
The show house will continue to host a variety of pop-up shops as well as a tour of the house highlighting the vendors and suppliers who helped the firm create the home. In addition, the funds raised from the show will benefit the local non-profit organization Open Hands and Overflowing Hearts.
Earlier this month, OHOH founder, Kayla Perry was diagnosed with a brain tumor and underwent her second brain surgery in the past year Jan. 11.
“A surgery that’s benefits outweighed its risks, but could have realistically left me mute, unable to walk, or even brain dead,” Perry wrote in a Jan. 12 blog post. “So, the fact that I woke up this morning actually does enthuse me.”
Kayla is currently up and walking and back at home after a successful procedure. With donated funds from Christopher Showhouse, OHOH will have the opportunity to fund research to help find a cure for children and young adults like Perry who suffer from pediatric cancer.
So far, roughly 1,000 guests have entered the home, giving Christopher Architecture the opportunity to donate more than $25,000 to Perry’s cause.
