De Nada, a modern Tex Mex restaurant from Birmingham restaurateur Armando Martinez, has opened at Birmingham’s Parkside District at Urban Supply.
The new concept brings a lively Tex Mex dining experience to one of the city’s fastest-growing entertainment corridors. Spanning 4,582 square feet, the restaurant features 149 indoor seats and 16 outdoor patio seats in a space that blends rustic textures with modern design elements.
Guests will notice several distinctive features throughout the restaurant, including an open kitchen where tortillas and churros are made fresh, a sculptural fountain centerpiece, and a large-scale mural celebrating the city of Birmingham designed by local artist Emma Gilbert. De Nada also includes a private dining area that accommodates up to 25 guests for special events and group gatherings.
The menu combines Mexican flavors with modern Tex Mex influences, featuring dishes such as Lone Star Fajitas with ribeye, grilled chicken, and shrimp; quesabirria tacos with slow-cooked short rib and consommé; and mahi mahi ceviche with lime, mango, and habanero. Guests will also find house favorites like carne asada, pollo con mole, and freshly made tamales, alongside street tacos, protein bowls, and shareable starters including queso blanco and fresh guacamole with cilantro and lime. Desserts include fresh churros with rotating fillings and classic tres leches cake topped with strawberries.
The beverage program centers around margaritas, including the Spicy Margarita made with jalapeño and ancho chile liqueurs, the Martinez Margarita, named after the Martinez family behind the restaurant and featuring reposado tequila with fresh citrus, and Cassandra’s Frozen Marg, named after Armando Martinez’s wife. Beyond margaritas, the cocktail menu features the Paloma with fresh citrus and soda, the Texas Ranch Water with tequila and Topo Chico, the Oaxaca Old Fashioned with mezcal and mole bitters, and a Horchata Espresso Martini made with house made horchata and fresh espresso. The bar also features a selection of local beers, including Good People Muchacho, Cahaba Blonde, and Del Rio Mexican Lager, alongside imported cervezas and a full wine list.
De Nada also offers zero-proof beverages, including a Zero Margarita made with non-alcoholic agave spirit and fresh lime, the El No-Jito with mint, lime, and soda, and a Coconut Mockarita with coconut and citrus notes.

The restaurant serves lunch and dinner, operating Sunday through Thursday from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM and Friday and Saturday from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM. A weekday happy hour is available Monday through Friday from 3:00 to 6:00 PM.
