On April 11, Spring Valley School will screen the movie “Normal Isn’t Real: Succeeding with Learning Disabilities and ADHD.”
This is the first screening of the movie in Alabama. It follows the journeys of four successful young adults who share their candid experiences of coming to terms with their LD and ADHD issues.
“My goal in making this film is to help empower each viewer to become an expert on themselves, regardless of where they are in their story and what their talents are,” said producer Krys Kornmeier. The movie has been screened in 15 other states.
The screening begins at 6 p.m. at Spring Valley School, 2701 Sydney Drive in Birmingham. Following the film, there will be a panel that will include a few SVS students sharing their wisdom and answering questions about their own experiences with dyslexia, among other learning differences.
The event is open to the public, and admission is free. But those who plan to attend are asked to RSVP to kjackson@springvalleyschool.org.
