Hoover police said this afternoon that a murder suspect has surrendered to authorities in Dallas County.
Police were searching for 34-year-old Jeffery Dewayne Mixon wanted for a domestic homicide that happened this morning at Cyprus Gardens apartments on Carousel Court.
The Hoover Police Department issued a look-out for this afternoon after his 34-year-old girlfriend was found dead inside the apartment off Lorna Road around 12:20 p.m.
Hoover police issued a statement just around 3:18 p.m. on Jan. 5 saying that Mixon was in custody after turning surrendering at the Dallas County Jail.
Police said Mixon’s 5-year-old daughter was located at the home of relatives in Plantersville.
