Dolores Hydock and Bobby Horton will present “A Strange Sweetness Thrills My Heart: The Journal of Sallie Independence Foster” from 7-9 p.m. June 24 at the Emmet O’Neal Library in Mountain Brook. Foster was 12 years old and living in Florence in 1861 when the Civil War began. The performance will be based on Foster’s diaries and the letters she exchanged with her brothers during the war.
