The Birmingham Museum of Art will host a Japanese film festival Aug. 7-10 as part of its Lethal Beauty exhibit. Professors Matt Levey, Dave Resha and Bob Shelton of Birmingham-Southern College and Cathleen Cummings, a professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, will introduce each film and then lead a Q&A session after each screening. “Harakiri” will be shown at 7 p.m. Aug. 7. “Ronin” will be screened at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 8. At 10:30 a.m. Aug. 9, “From Up on Poppy Hill” will be shown. The film festival will conclude with a screening of “Seven Samurai” at 1 p.m. Aug. 10.
