The 21st annual Susan G. Komen North Central Alabama Race for the Cure will take place on October 20 in Linn Park. The Race helps promote breast cancer awareness and celebrates current breast cancer fighters and survivors. Registration begins at 7 a.m. The day’s events also include a Survivor Parade at 8:30 a.m. and a “fun run” at 10 a.m. The actual 5K begins at 9 a.m. on 8th Ave. The entry fee for adults is $30 and $15 for children under 14 years. The net proceeds from the Race help fund community projects relating to breast cancer screening and treatment and breast health education.
