Community Grief Support Service’s (CGSS) eighth annual Lift Your Spirits Charity Gala will be at Oct. 20 at Park Place in Mountain Brook. This year’s event honors Mal Moore, director of athletics at the University of Alabama.
Mr. Moore’s wife, Charlotte, died in 2010 after years of battling Alzheimer’s, and he has become a great champion for the needs of Alzheimer’s victims and their caregivers.
Lift Your Spirits starts at 5:30 p.m. with cocktails and a silent auction, followed by dinner and a live auction led by Granger Thagard.
Tickets to the Gala are $100 per person and include valet parking. The money raised will provide free grief support and counseling for people struggling to get their lives back together following the death of a loved one. This year that includes tornadoes survivors who lost loved ones during the storms.
