Mountain Brook tennis partners Jane and Pippa Roy competed in the National Mother-Daughter Grass Court Championships at Longwood Cricket Club in Boston earlier this past summer, bringing the ‘silver ball’ runners-up trophies home to Mountain Brook.
Pippa is currently on a tennis scholarship at Creighton University and studying Finance. She played #1 singles/doubles at MBHS and led the team to 4 state AHSAA titles. Her mom Dr. Jane Roy is a retired UAB Exercise Science professor who played tennis for The University of Alabama. This was their first time playing doubles together and Pippa’s first time playing on grass. They were proud to represent Alabama on a national stage.
