Those participating in the MLK Unity Walk are asked to bring a nonperishable food item to donate to Greater Birmingham Ministries. The free, family-friendly event will also include activities, entertainment and a white dove release in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Registration begins at 10 a.m. The opening ceremony starts at 11 a.m. The walk will begin at noon.
