Perfect Game will be bringing amateur baseball to the Hoover Met Thursday through Sunday with its annual National Showcase event.
The showcase was moved to Hoover after COVID-19 had shut down professional sports facilities across the country. It also is the first major event held in Hoover since mid-March and will mean major economic benefits for the Met and for the city’s hotels and restaurants, Melanie Posey, public information officer for the city, said in a statement.
The National Showcase, in its 20th year, will bring dozens of high school athletes to the city to be viewed by scouts from Major League Baseball teams, Posey said in the statement.
