Shelby Humane Society will host more Tales from the Trips, a casual fundraising dinner celebrating the shelter’s miles and milestones, on Aug. 27 at 7:30pm at the YWCA Hargis Retreat. Funds raised at the event will benefit the Shelter Partners Program, which has transported more than 3,400 dogs from overpopulated Shelby County to new homes in New England.
Guests will enjoy comfort food while hearing updates on the shelter’s progress and honoring drivers and supporters of Shelter Partners. The event will also feature Laura Lanza, ASPCA Community Initiatives director, who will speak on the shelter’s partnership with the ASPCA.
Tickets are $15 a person by Aug. 25 or $20 at the door. Reservations can be made by calling (205) 669-3916 or visiting www.shelbyhumane.org
