The Assistance League of Birmingham is sponsoring a used book sale May 7 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the front lawn of PrimeTime Treasures, 1755 Oxmoor Rd. in Homewood.
The sale includes hundreds of books: fiction, gardening, cookbooks, collectibles, children’s, religious and more.
Co-chairmen Sarah Wessel and Lauri Soong are organizing the books for the sale. Donation of books will be accepted; a box will be inside PrimeTime Treasures to receive gently used books.
All proceeds benefit the league’s three philanthropic programs: PrimeTime Treasures, which has returned more than $3.7 million to Alabama seniors with the sale of their handmade art and furniture; Operation School Bell, which has clothed more than 22,000 children since 1985; and Operation Literacy, which provides one-on-one tutoring to children reading below grade level.
