On August 20, Jud Barber will be hosting the “Watch the Sox while hoping to strike out cancer” watch party at Buffalo Wild Wings located on John Hawkins Parkway in Hoover beginning at 6 pm. Come join fellow Alabama Red Sox fans to tune in to the 9th annual WEEI/NESN Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon and watch Boston take on the Toronto Blue Jays! The fundraiser is part of the 9th annual WEEI/NESN Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon, which raises funds for the Jimmy Fund, an official charity of the Boston Red Sox, which supports the fight against cancer at Boston’s Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, helping to raise the chances of survival for children and adults with cancer around the world.
The goal is to raise $5 million. In 2009 gifts to the Radio-Telethon came from countries including New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Canada, Ireland, England, Bermuda, Uruguay, Costa Rica, Norway and Australia, and Alabama raised $2,070 in 2009.
